56% of residents of the Russian Federation are in favor of open borders with Ukraine
Russia and Ukraine should be independent but friendly states with open borders, without visas and customs. This is what 56% of citizens of the Russian Federation believe, the Levada Center survey showed. Read also: Residents of Russia began to treat Ukraine better under the Green survey. At the same time, 26% of respondents believe that the relations between the two countries should be the same as with other countries with closed borders, visas and customs. And according to 15%, Russia and Ukraine should unite in one state. Recently, Russian residents have become worse at Ukraine. If in September 56% of citizens of the Russian Federation spoke about good relations, in January 2020 their share decreased to 42%. 47% of respondents treat Ukraine poorly (31% in September 2019). The survey was conducted on 23 29 January 2020. 1603 citizens of the Russian Federation over 18 years of age were interviewed in 137 settlements, 50 constituent entities of the Russian Federation by personal interview.
