More than 226,000 foreigners visited Azerbaijan in January

In January 2020, more than 226,000 foreign citizens and stateless persons visited Azerbaijan, which is 18.1% more than in the same period last year. This is reported by the State Statistics Service of Azerbaijan. Visitors from 136 countries came to Azerbaijan during this period. Most foreign citizens visited the country in January from the Russian Federation (30%), Georgia (28.2%) and Turkey (10.6%). Of the Iranian citizens, 5.8% visited Azerbaijan, 3.2% visited Saudi Arabia, 2.3% visited the United Arab Emirates, and 2.1% visited India. 1.8% of visitors arrived in Azerbaijan during this period from Ukraine, the same amount from Kuwait. 1.4% from Kazakhstan and the same amount from Pakistan. 1.1% of those arriving in Azerbaijan were from Turkmenistan, 0.9% from Iraq, 0.8% from Great Britain and Israel. 7.7% citizens of other States, and the 0.1% of visitors were stateless persons.
