Nigeria's president unveils new visa policy

Nigeria's president, Muhammad Buhari, unveiled a new visa policy that he said aimed to attract innovation, specialist skills and knowledge from abroad. This is reported by the Air Force Africa. According to journalists of the television and radio company, last November in Egypt Bukhari announced plans to introduce a new visa policy, which he described as a strategic decision to remove barriers to the free movement of our people on the continent. The new policy provides visas on arrival for brief visits for African Union passport holders. There are 79 new categories of visas, which, according to government representatives, should ensure that visas more accurately reflect the objectives of the trip, which will help to improve their processing and response. It is noted that the Government has also announced a new biometric visa database to check whether the applicant is wanted by Interpol.
