Another survivor found after hotel building collapses in eastern China


Another person was rescued from the rubble of a collapsed hotel building in Fujian province in eastern China, Xinhua news agency reported on March 10. The survivor was under rubble for 69 hours after the collapse of the Xinjia hotel building in the Licheng district of Quanzhou. 62 people were recovered from the rubble, of whom 20 died. In total, 71 people were under the rubble at the time of the collapse. Rescue workers are looking for nine more people. We remind that the construction of the collapsed hotel began in 2013. Its area was 7,000 square meters, but it was originally prepared for other needs. It did not become a hotel until 2018. The building was built illegally.
