In Belarus, more than a kilogram of mercury was found in one of the districts


About 1.1 kg of waste containing mercury was collected by the staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus in the agricultural town Yahimovina Molodechnenskiy district. This was reported on April 30 in the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic. The discovery of mercury on Green Street in the agricultural town Yahimovina Molodechnenskiy district was reported on 29 April. Mercury was discovered by employees of the unitary enterprise Communal during construction works. During the demercurization works, rescue workers collected about 1100 grams of waste containing mercury. According to the results of the measurements, the maximum permissible concentration of mercury vapours in the air was not exceeded. The collected mercury was placed in a polymer container for further disposal.
