An earthquake occurred off the coast of New Zealand
Seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 off the coast of New Zealand, according to the US Geological Survey. The epicenter of tremors was located 87 kilometers northwest of the city of Te Anau. The center of the seismic event lay at a depth of 14.31 kilometers. There was no information about possible destruction or casualties, the threat of a tsunami was not announced. According to the news agency, on June 24, seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 6.2 off the coast of Japan. The epicenter of tremors was located off the coast of the Japanese prefecture of Chiba at a depth of 30 kilometers. There were no casualties.
