Ukrainian metallurgists: with such power from us soon nothing will remain

According to the results of the first quarter of this year, Ukrainian metallurgy received about 14 billion hryvnias of net loss, said the head of the Federation of Metallurgists Sergey Belenky on June 29. According to the representative of the industry, the metallurgy of Ukraine is already experiencing a crisis, the situation is aggravated by the planned increase in the costs of transporting products from the state-owned company Ukrzaliznytsia. "An increase in the cost of transporting products will lead to an increase in its cost, as a result of which it will be uncompetitive in foreign markets. Accordingly, our competitiveness will soon remain nothing with such actions of the authorities and state monopolies, Belenky emphasized. Changes in transportation rates are expected from July 1. As the head of trade unions noted, the opinion of metallurgy about this innovation is extremely negative, although Ukrzaliznytsia claims that they agreed with everyone and decided the most acute points. The news agency notes that, according to official data, the revenue of metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine from the export of ferrous metals in January-May 2020 decreased by 19% compared to the corresponding period last year.
