An earthquake of magnitude 5.5 occurred in Taiwan
Seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.5 in western Taiwan, reports Xinhua News Agency. The epicenter of the seismic event was located off the coast of Hualian County. The center of the earthquake lay at a depth of 50 kilometers. It is noted that the residents of Taipei felt tremors, but there was no information about the victims. According to the news agency, on July 26, an earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred off the coast of the South Sandwich Islands. There were no casualties.
