In China, denied espionage charges brought by Belgium


The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the report of the Belgian special services on espionage by Chinese students. This was reported on July 5 in a statement by the diplomatic department. The report was totally unfounded and intended to target China. We have regularly stated that the PRC builds relations with other countries on the basis of respect and non-interference in internal affairs, the statement said. Beijing's reaction followed in response to the publication by the Belgian special services that students studying at Chinese military educational institutions are sent to different countries, including Belgium, to gain knowledge for the development of military affairs in their country.
