In southwestern France, about 200 hectares of forest caught fire
At least 200 hectares of forest burned down in the Gironde department in southwestern France, on July 27, BFMTV reports. To eliminate the fire, four aircraft and another 80 units of special equipment, as well as 160 rescuers, were involved. During the extinguishing, one fire engine burned down. All residents were evacuated from the five nearest settlements. The fight against fire is made difficult by gusty winds and marshy terrain. According to the news agency, on July 27, in the area of the village of Oleirush in Portugal, it was possible to localize a strong forest fire, which began on July 25. More than 6 thousand hectares of forest were destroyed by fire.
